071011 - Japan > Netherlands
Okay, so it seems my vacation is finally near it's end. Today Tamae and i went to a really
tranquile place with ninja's all samurai walking around ^^ We threw ninja stars and went into a
house with crooked rooms. That waas really a LOT of fun. we also shot arrows, climbed rope did
stuff more stuff and then even more stuff. And the people at the place were uber nice. We got
away with things you'd never be able to pull of in any other park.
As if that wasn't awesome enoug, we went to a hotspring. Now before i go any further, I must
say that I've been losing respect for the dutch culture more and more i see the way things go
in the Netherlands (more on that another time). But the hotsprings take the cake. I went into
a room, got undressed, went into the hotspring and enjoyed the peace and calm. Then i went
outside and enjoyed the outside hotspring.
For those who have been to a hotspring in Japan and live in Europe. You know that we could
never ever have anything like that. EVER. Even if the climate would be right to do it:
- they would be empty (hot bath with 50 naked men, no european would go for that)
- the law would be hard assed about child protection (he might see one or more penises in
there!)
- any health organisation would mess things up (outside bath is unhygenic, salmonella bacteria
would thrive and more blah)
- it would be ridiculously expensive (companies would make it elitair and charge big bucks)
Japan is different. Over here people can tell good stuff from exagurated bullshit without the
gouvernment having to hold their hand when they cross the street. Japan is far from perfect
(google: japan work stress) but the dutch can learn a LOT from them.
